eCitizen

Birth Certificate (Registration or Late Registration)

Registering a birth and obtaining the certificate through Civil Registration Services — standard or late registration.

Our fee: Ask us Gov fee: From KES 50 (standard, within 6 months) up to about KES 250–500 (late registration)

What to bring

  • Birth notification from the hospital, or supporting proof of birth
  • Parents' original national IDs
  • For late registration: a school-leaving certificate, baptismal card, or clinic booklet as supporting evidence

Business Name Registration

Registering a sole proprietorship or partnership business name through the Business Registration Service (BRS).

Our fee: Ask us Gov fee: KES 950 (name search and registration combined)

What to bring

  • Proposed business name(s) for search and reservation
  • Original national ID and KRA PIN of the owner(s)
  • A short description of the nature of the business

Certificate of Good Conduct (Police Clearance)

DCI police clearance certificate, commonly needed for jobs, travel, and visa applications.

Our fee: Ask us Gov fee: KES 1,050 (includes the eCitizen convenience fee)

What to bring

  • Original national ID (or birth certificate for minors)
  • Active eCitizen account
  • Fingerprinting appointment at a police station after applying online

Company Registration (Private Limited Company)

Incorporating a private limited company through the Business Registration Service (BRS).

Our fee: Ask us Gov fee: KES 10,650 (standard BRS registration fee)

What to bring

  • National ID and KRA PIN for every director and shareholder
  • Registered office address
  • Proposed company name(s) for search and reservation
  • Share capital and shareholding split

Driving Licence (Application or Renewal)

New driving licence application or renewal through NTSA, before biometric capture at an NTSA office.

Our fee: Ask us Gov fee: From KES 750 (learner's) up to KES 3,000 (10-year licence), depending on duration

What to bring

  • Original national ID
  • Existing driving licence, if renewing
  • Active eCitizen account

National ID Replacement (Lost or Damaged)

Replacing a lost, stolen, or damaged national ID card through the National Registration Bureau.

Our fee: Ask us Gov fee: KES 1,000 (first-time replacement)

What to bring

  • Police abstract, for a lost or stolen ID
  • The damaged ID itself, if applicable
  • Active eCitizen account
  • Booking for biometric capture at a Huduma Centre or registration office

Passport Application (New or Renewal)

Ordinary Kenyan passport application or renewal, processed through the Department of Immigration on eCitizen.

Our fee: Ask us Gov fee: KES 12,500 (standard 66-page passport, current eCitizen rate)

What to bring

  • Original national ID (or birth certificate for minors)
  • Old passport, if renewing or replacing one
  • Recent passport-size photo meeting eCitizen specifications
  • Parents' IDs and consent letter, for applicants under 18

KRA

Individual Tax Returns (Annual or Nil)

Filing your annual income tax return on iTax — a Nil return if you had no income, or an income tax return using your P9 form if employed.

Our fee: Ask us Gov fee: Filing itself is free — late filing (including a late Nil return) attracts a KES 2,000 penalty

What to bring

  • KRA PIN and iTax password
  • P9 form from your employer, if employed
  • Details of any other income earned in the tax year

KRA PIN Registration

Personal Identification Number registration on iTax — required for employment, opening a bank account, land transactions, and more.

What to bring

  • Original national ID (or Alien ID for foreigners)
  • Active phone number and email address
  • Employer's KRA PIN, if currently employed

Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC)

A certificate confirming your tax affairs are in order — commonly required for tenders, licensing, and job applications.

Our fee: Ask us Gov fee: Free of charge — usually issued within 3–5 working days once compliant

What to bring

  • KRA PIN with all returns filed up to date
  • All outstanding tax liabilities paid, or an approved payment plan
  • eTIMS/TIMS compliance, for businesses and non-employment income
